The Elks Lodge 74 has occupied its corner of Hoboken, NJ long enough to have seen the city transform around it, and yet walk through the door and the warmth hits you the same way it hit members decades ago. Reviewers keep coming back to the same word: welcoming. That is not an accident. It is the result of members who genuinely like each other and treat every guest as someone worth knowing.

The lodge sits on Washington Street and carries the weight of a long-standing charter with surprising lightness. You will find pool tables lined up and ready, a room that fills fast on game days, and a poker night that draws regulars who take their cards seriously but not themselves. The 4.6-star rating across 78 reviews reflects something real: people leave this place in a better mood than when they arrived.

What We Offer

Membership at Elks Lodge 74 opens up a private social club that most Hoboken residents walk past without knowing what is inside. Members gather for pool tournaments, weekly poker nights, and televised sporting events in a setting that feels like a genuine neighborhood institution rather than a rented banquet hall.

Beyond the games, the Elks mission runs deeper. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks channels member dues and fundraising into youth programs, veterans' support, and local community grants. When you join Lodge 74, you are not just getting access to a great room with pool tables. You are buying into a national organization with local roots that has been doing tangible good in Hudson County for generations.

"An amazing private club in Hoboken with a wonderful long-standing history. I’m not a frequent guest here, but every time I visit, I’m impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff and the owner. It’s something truly special, and every time, I find myself not wanting to leave. The food and drinks are also great, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Big thanks to the staff who even taught me how to play pool — that made my visit even more fun! 😄"

"Visited for a private function. The hall is nice and spacious, there is a separate bar area. Our event had valet parking which was a nice touch, i do not know if that was venue driven or not."

"Private members only lodge with a 8 foot pool table. Played here during APA league night. The bartender and people were quite friendly and the drinks cheap."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
